Peculiar Natural Phenomena

-Unusual Glow in Sky above Jongil Peak

Mysterious natural phenomena are appearing one after another in the area of Mt. Paektu, a sacred mountain of revolution.

Since Dec. 16 ground rumbles have been heard in the area of Janggun Peak for days and at 17:30 on Dec. 19 an unusual glow was formed in the sky above Jongil Peak.

Even those who had been living there for a long time saw such a large scarlet glow for the first time.

At the view of an unusual glow tinging the sky with deep and clear color, people said in excitement that even nature, unable to forget the heaven-born man, unfolded in the sky a red flag associated with the life of Kim Jong Il.

-Snow Falling from Clear Sky

Mysterious snow fell at Mt.Paektu Secret Camp from 7 p.m. on Dec. 18 to 7 a.m. on 19.

In general, snow falls from an overcast sky, but at Mt. Paektu Secret Camp snow fell from the starry sky all night.

Local residents said Kim Jong Il was the heaven-born man and so the sky shed tears at the news of his demise.

-Hawk and Crane on Hill of Tonghungsan

At about 13:20 on Dec. 19 a hawk came flying to the bronze statue of President Kim Il Sung on the Hill of Tonghungsan. What was mysterious was that the hawk alighted on the same place three times before flying away in the direction of Pyongyang.

Around 21:20 on December 20 a white crane came flying, circling round the bronze statue of President Kim Il Sung three times before perching on a tree for 40 minutes with its head bowed and then flew away in the direction of Pyongyang.

Viewers of the phenomena said the birds seem to share the Korean people’s grief.
