Absurd Smear Campaign
The south Korean conservative media that had kept mum after the Korean People's Army released an open ultimatum started to speak ill of the DPRK in a far-fetched manner. Recently the daily Choson Ilbo said groundlessly that the north brought in military uniforms at a low price and linked it to the expenses for celebrations of the Day of the Sun. Yonhap News also spoke ill of the DPRK's popular policy for the posterity, quoting what other countries say. The Maeil Gyongje Sinmun reprinted false accounts on the reunion of separated family members and relatives written by the scum of the earth who betrayed the country. Media should look squarely at the reality of society and thus lead the era and public opinion along the right path. Media of our separated nation should conduct patriotic writing activities by encouraging reconciliation and unity of the north and the south and condemning the confrontation maniacs. The south Korean conservative media, however, are oblivious of their mission and duty and, serving as the waiting maid of the confrontation-oriented regime, are hell bent on viciously slandering the fellow countrymen to stir up hostility against the DPRK. Their despicable behavior is an extension of the racket of confrontation of systems by the Lee Myung Bak group that is getting more vicious than ever before. It aims to harm the socialist system and single-minded unity of the DPRK and constrain the desire of the south Korean people for reunification in alliance with the north. It is ridiculous that traitor Lee who is driven to the tight corner tries to open a way to life by diverting the attention of the public elsewhere. We have already clarified our stand to mercilessly destroy the den of heinous provokers who slander the dignity of our supreme leadership and harm our ideas, system and people with all kinds of smear campaigns. The puppet media should ponder over what their repeated smear campaigns would result in and stop running wild. Un Jong Chol |
