This year the Workers' Party of Korea focuses on uplifting the living standards of the people. The August 3 Consumer Goods Production Movement is part of this effort -- to increase the output of consumer goods by tapping locally available raw materials and giving full play to wisdom and creativeness of the masses. On August 3, 28 years ago, leader Kim Jong Il initiated this movement and developed it as a big mass movement. Now, we have a firm foundation to push ahead this movement more dynamically. What is of vital importance here is to encourage patriotism of the masses so that they work more energetically to produce more and better by tapping more local raw materials. It is also necessary to make a rational use of wastes and by-products from central and local industrial factories and encourage the welfare service work-teams. It is the demand of the time to increase the volume and variety of products. Socialist emulation drives must be carried out more vigorously to boost production of consumer goods to satisfy the ever-growing demand of the people. |
