Sami Pavilion and Stone Lion, Historic Relics

In our country historic relics and cultural heritages are well preserved to show the long history and brilliant culture of the nation.

Among them are the Sami Pavilion and Stone Lion at the Sami Pavilion in Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.

The Sami Pavilion was built in １９th century. It looks like a crane. It was built on several granite pillars and has a gable roof.

Beside the Sami Pavilion there is a stone lion showing the refined skill of stone sculpture of the ancestors.

In September １９６０, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited this place and stressed the need to protect well good cultural relics left by our ancestors in order to boast of the long history, wisdom and talents of our people all over the world.
