Conspicuous Scenery of Pothong River

Nowadays, when the efflorescence in the era of the Workers’ Party is being opened up, bases for cultural and emotional life are on increase day by day in Pyongyang Municipality and other parts of the country.

Among them are the sports parks built nicely on Unha Islet, situated under the Sinso Bridge in Pyongyang, and on Kumran Islet opposite Kyongru-dong.

Those islets covered with various species of trees on balmy spring season were become more conspicuous in their landscape with the newly-built sports parks.

Unha Islet with an area of over １０ ０００ square meters was fully equipped with courts of volleyball, tennis, badminton, table-tennis and other service facilities.

Also the landscape of Kumran Islet, which has the outdoor sports grounds including above-said courts and a newly-built wrestling site enhances the beauty of the capital city in harmony with Kyongru-dong built on the bank of the Pothong River.

The new sceneries of those islets are associated with the patriotic efforts of officials and working people in Pothonggang District.

Under the guidance of the district Party committee, officials concerned gave priority to organizational and political work to build sports parks as a model of the city and made preparations for getting a complete set of facilities, fixtures and equipment needed for the operation of the parks.

During the construction, the officials and working people pooled their creative wisdom and enthusiasm to complete the construction of the sports parks on a high level directed by the Party as early as possible and hastened the construction at the high level by tapping all reserves and possibilities in spite of insufficiency and difficulties.

As a result, the construction of the sports park on Unha and Kumran islets could be successfully completed in a short span of time.

Now the citizens enjoy a leisure time there which have turned into another excellent bases for cultural and emotional life under the loving care of the Party.
