Ryomyong Street Reflecting Our Motherland’s Valiant Spirit

Ryomyong Street is situated in the area of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche.

The street, which was named "Ryomyong Street" by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un with the meaning that the dawn breaks for the revolution from Ryongnam Hill and we aspire to the future in the architecture, reflects the valiant spirit of Juche Korea which has proudly built the prosperous country by dint of self-reliance and self-development.

To tell the truth, ２０１６, when the construction of Ryomyong Street started, was an acute period when the hostile forces had gone to extremes in their desperate moves to stifle the DPRK.

In August that year, several cities and counties in the area along the shore of the River Tuman suffered a great deal of natural disasters due to a sudden storm and heavy rain.

On the historic day when the General Secretary proclaimed the construction of Ryomyong Street, he said that it was of special significance from the present point of view, noting that the declaration of the construction of Ryomyong Street would be a power demonstration greater than a nuclear explosion.

He continued that we should show the fact that our revolution is winning victory after victory in the face of the sanctions of enemies more viciously than ever before.

In hearty response to the ardent call of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, builders engaged in the construction performed a miracle of building Ryomyong Street in a matter of one year, which is more than twice as large as Mirae Scientists Street in terms of scale and amount of construction.

Thus, Ryomyong Street was completed with splendor in April, ２０１７.

Ryomyong Street, symbol of great Kim Jong Un’s era, will shine all over the world, demonstrating the spirit of Juche Korea advancing along the road of victory under the uplifted banner of independence.
