Touching Story Conveyed by Mountain of Potatoes
One October day, ２０１８, the respected General Secretary
Exchanging greetings with the officials of the factory, he told them that he went there to have a look at the potato heaps at the potato storehouse.
After a while, the respected General Secretary dropped in at the Depot No. １ of the potato storehouse.
The heaps of potatoes nearly reaching the ceiling and myriads of large potatoes gave a satisfactory view.
With his eyes stuck on the potato heaps, he said with admiration that it was literally a mountain of potatoes.
He made the rounds of several depots and suggested trying Depot No. ８.
Feasting his eyes on the large piles of potatoes in the depot, the respected General Secretary noted that such big potato heaps could be seen nowhere else in our country but only in Samjiyon County.
Looking around the officials full of excitement, he said in great delight that the view of the mountain of potatoes was incomparable even to the beautiful scenery of Mt Kumgang.
He paid such big attention to the improvement of the people’s dietary lives that he held the view of the potato heaps dearer than the scenery of Mt Kumgang, known to be the best in the world.
That day, he offered to take a picture with the potato heaps as the background and sat unreservedly with the officials and employees of the factory on the pile of potatoes to pose for a picture.
He couldn’t easily leave the potato heaps as if they were precious treasures.
Though the accompanying officials informed him that it was high time for him to leave, he put off his departure for three times, so reluctant to leave the potato depot.
He smiled brightly, forgetful of all worries, watching the potato mountain again and again.
It vividly showed what his greatest happiness and pride were.
Indeed, the fruits of happiness growing in number on this land are based on the respected General Secretary’s love for and devotion to the people.
The story still tells us that nobody in the world but our great father regards the happiness and delight of the people as so precious and that we are the happiest people living under such warm loving care of his.
