Provincial Seat Remodeled

Haeju City has been spruced up in South Hwanhae Province, the DPRK.

The city face-lifted its appearance by renovating the surroundings of square, remodeling many-storeyed dwelling houses, painting their exteriors, paving blocks and installing a large electric display.

The city Party committee, according to the meticulous plan for renovation, intensified the organizational and political work for arousing masses to implementation of the plan.

The officials of the city people’s committee assigned the detailed tasks and gave priority to ensuring manpower and materials.

Amid the concentration of means and power on the renovation, the officials of the province also took conducive part in the project.

The city built up a paving-block-producing base to repair the sidewalks.

In addition, they produced colored cement and high-quality coating materials from locally-available raw materials so as to make effective use of them in prettying up many-storeyed dwelling houses and public establishments.

They promoted the technical improvement of roads and river improvement.

Although large was the project of paving roads, dredging river bed, covering embankment with stones and sodding, the officials and working people who were engaged in the project pushed ahead with the work, thus winding it up in a qualitative way.

Now, the appearance of the provincial seat is being further face-lifted thanks to the patriotic enthusiasm of the officials and working people of the city who aroused themselves with aspiration to pretty up their villages and streets by their own hands.
