Self-sustenance and self-determination, this is the core of the socialist construction and a fighting banner which ensures its victorious advance.

When it comes to the strategy and tactics of revolution, they must be adaptable as each country has different fighting conditions and environment and the times changes variably.

But what is immutable in any case is the principle of Juche which means that each country should manage everything according to its own decision and exertions while increasing its own strength.

The master of socialist construction in each country is none other than its people who know well the specific conditions of their country.

The main orientation of the socialist construction and principal method of the progressive development are the self-reliance, self-sustenance and self-determination, and the road to victory of socialism lies in advancing by dint of the people as they intend.

The history of socialist construction in our country is that of self-reliance and self-sustenance that bridged over all difficulties by its own strength while firmly preserving the Juche character.

After the national liberation, our Party, which accomplished the historic cause of state founding on the strength of its people’s patriotic enthusiasm with firm trust in them, without alien aids or support, solved all the problems arising in the socialist construction in conformity with its people’s will and the country’s specific conditions and in an independent and creative manner.

As the Party, rejecting flunkyism and dogmatism and getting rid of hackneyed ideas and mode, pioneered in unique way of socialist construction which was taken together with the people who value the self-dependence above their lives, there could be built on this land the invincible socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.

Even in the severe circumstances where the imperialists and dominationists were cutting a swathe with their high-handedness and arbitrariness, our Party, which declared that we know what way we must take and consistently preserved the stand of independence rejecting the alien interference, performed a miracle of revolutionary practice to be specially recorded in the history of world socialist movement.

Wellbeing comes from self-sustenance and self-determination, but dependence on outside forces brings on misfortune.

The way of self-sustenance and self-determination, though it accompanies numberless trials, is the only shortcut to existence and development; this is the undeniable truth proved in revolutionary practice.

The significance of the self-sustenance and self-determination lies in not only strengthening the foundation of existence and development of socialism by dint of self-reliance.

The most important point is that all the people, amid the struggle under the banner of self-sustenance and self-determination, prepare themselves as the powerful masters of socialist cause and those strong in ideas and faith who are equipped with the spirit of self-dependence and self-development.

That’s why our Party makes so much efforts to train the people into those strong in spirit of self-reliance, possessors of spirit of self-sustenance and self-determination.

What our Party regards as its most valuable assets incomparable with nothing in the struggle for opening up the avenue of prosperity by dint of self-sustenance, self-determination and self-reliance is the people who have been further strengthened during the course of defending socialism by their own efforts and hands; and as the Party has this great strength, the future of socialism of our style is endlessly prosperous and rosy.

The self-sustenance and self-determination are not only the temporary countermeasure for coping with the difficult situations.

The Party shouldered without hesitation historic tasks of rural rejuvenation and regional development in the face of overwhelming unprecedented trials and is promoting the tasks with great exertion, which displays its firm will to open up a new era of prosperity on the strength of self-reliance, not any alien aids.

Unshakable is our Party’s will to realize all dreams of prosperity by dint of self-sustenance and self-determination till the day of complete victory of socialism.
