Her Best Gift
As Mother’s Day was getting nearer, Yun Ok, a worker of the Kusong Textile Mill, was thinking what to prepare for her mother.
'Is it fine if I prepare a warm sweater or fragrant flowers?'
Anyhow, she felt there was something missing for thanking her mother.
She kept thinking of it:
What my mother sincerely wishes me is to become a genuine daughter of the motherland. As she wishes, I became a weaver and worked so hard that I could be an innovator and carried out the two-year plan of the national economy ahead of others. Then, what is my best gift for her?
Suddenly, she reminded herself of the photo that she had taken for being honored as an innovator some days before.
That night, receiving the meaningful photo, her mother said to her with a broad smile.
"I like your gift very much."
On Day before Mother’s Day
It was the day before Mother’s Day.
Late in the evening, some people visited the South Phyongan Provincial Old People’s Home.
The old Kim Po Bu was pleased to welcome them.
They were Jang Yun Il and other officials of the Phyongwon County People’s Committee.
In the past, they devoted their sincerity to her regarding it as their bounden duty to take good care of her, a woman of wartime merits, and in the celebration of Mother’s Day, they visited the old people’s home to congratulate her. Though she felt any inconvenience at the old people’s home which has been built thanks to the loving care of the motherly Party, they frequently called on her and took care of her with filial devotion.
Their sincerity impressed the old man.

Song Sung by Children
With Mother’s Day just ahead, children of an old woman Ri Yong Ok living in Sungni-dong No.１, Rangnang District, gathered together to select a song to be sung before their mother.
Each song they selected made them keenly feel the love for mother.
It was not because of merely the fact that she has devoted unsparing care to parentless them by becoming real mother.
She has taught the children to feel the benevolence of the country before the mother’s love. And she has covered a journey for assisting the Korean People’s Army for more than fifty years.
Therefore, that day, such words flowed out of the children’s hearts.
