Immortal Exploits of Providing Firm Legal Cornerstone for Construction of Prosperous Country

Today is the Constitution Day of the DPRK.

On this occasion, our people recollect with deep emotion the immortal feats of the peerlessly great men who firmly consolidated the legal foundation for building a prosperous country.

President Kim Il Sung provided the historic root of the Republic Constitution in the flames of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and saw to it that the people’s democratic constitution, the first of its kind in our country, which comprehended the will of the people, was enacted and enforced in the liberated country.

He, who built the socialist system centered on the popular masses on this land by victoriously leading the social revolution of two stages, decided to enact the constitution which was developed anew in our own way in its composition and content and energetically led the work for its realization.

Thanks to his wise leadership, the Constitution of the DPRK was adopted at the First Session of the Fifth Supreme People’s Assembly.

The enactment of the Constitution embodying the Juche Idea provided a legal guarantee for firmly defending our people-centered state and social system and our people came to have a powerful legal weapon to further accelerate the revolution and construction.

Chairman Kim Jong Il set it as a consistent policy of our Party to strengthen obedience to socialist law and paid deep attention to further perfecting the Constitution as required by the times and the developing revolution.

The Chairman saw that the DPRK law on national flag and emblem were enacted and thus let the national flag and emblem associated with exploits of the President performed in founding the country be deeply engraved into the minds of the people as the national symbol of dignified Juche Korea.

Thanks to the energetic leadership of the Chairman who clarified an immortal great programme for the realization of the cause of immortalizing the leader and has consistently maintained it, the Constitution which legalized holding the President in high esteem as the eternal President of the DPRK was unanimously adopted at the First Session of the Tenth Supreme People’s Assembly.

The ideas and exploits of the President and the Chairman on building the Juche-oriented law are shining more brilliantly thanks to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The respected General Secretary, in reflection of the unanimous will and desire of all the people, provided a firm legal foundation for realizing the cause of immortalizing the leaders.

The respected General Secretary saw that the work for perfecting the system of the sector-specific laws was powerfully pushed forward with on the principle of properly ensuring political identity, modernity and people-oriented character as required by the people’s demands, interests and reality.

The wise leadership of the respected General Secretary who made sure that new laws including the law on enforcing the universal １２-year compulsory education, law on recycling and law on tele-education were adopted and meticulously guides the work for revising and supplementing the sector-specific laws is a motive force that enables the Laws of the Republic to firmly guarantee the administration of the people-oriented politics of the socialist State.

Our people will advance along the road of Juche holding fast to the Constitution of the Republic as a powerful weapon of the revolution and construction under the outstanding and seasoned guidance of the respected General Secretary.
