Reliable Sportspersons Who Adorned This Year Significantly
The historic １３th Plenary Meeting of the ８th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea delineated proudly that the field of sports, too, contributed good results to highly enhancing the prestige of the country.
Our reliable sportspersons, with the single will to repay the expectations of the motherland and people with gold medals, won over ２０ cups and ２７０-odd medals including １５０ gold medals as well as setting １０-odd new world records in the international games held this year, bringing about the signal results.

Bearing deep in mind the Party’s great love and trust, officials of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee conducted in a substantial way the work for improving the players’ physical and technical abilities to the maximum and steadily developing the training and athletic methods as well as tactics and methods by raising the scientific level of teaching and training.
Our sportspersons strived to prepare themselves more strongly in ideology, will, physical and technical aspects with a resolve to live up to the expectations of the country and the people and thus fully demonstrated the mettle of the Juche Korea in international games.
Our reliable women footballers performed new Korean women’s football myth again.
The DPRK women’s football team won the ２０２５ FIFA U-１７ Women’s World Cup following last year, thus getting into the spotlight of world football circle as the best team for winning two consecutive victories and raising the World Cup four times in the history of the World Cup.
Our Taekwon-Do players, too, obtained ７０-odd medals and a trophy at the ２３rd Taekwon-Do World Championships and fully demonstrated the dignity and might of the home of Taekwon-Do.
In addition, our players glorified the honour of the motherland with their excellent successes in various championships.
The brilliant feats performed by our sportspersons this significant year will be recorded as a page in the history of the development of the Juche-oriented sports, giving great encouragement to all the people who have turned out in the struggle to greet the ９th Congress of the Party as the glorious one of victors.
