Juche-oriented Paramilitary Forces Strengthened under Leadership of Peerlessly Great Men

Today is the ６７th founding anniversary of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards (WPRG), the Juche-oriented paramilitary forces of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

On this occasion, our people are recollecting with deep emotion the course of the WPRG which has been strengthened and developed ceaselessly into the revolutionary armed forces faithfully upholding the cause of the WPK together with the Korean People’s Army and performed proud feats in the showdown with imperialism and struggle for building a socialist power under the leadership of the peerlessly great men.

President Kim Il Sung advanced the unique idea that the people are the state, the rear and the regular army to give birth to all-people resistance in the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle and energetically led the work for fortifying the whole country by arming all the people in the whole period of the revolutionary leadership.

The WPRG was founded in January, １９５９, thanks to the wise guidance of the President who paid great attention to the development of the militia forces.

Its founding was a historic event of epochal significance in building the revolutionary armed forces and establishing the all-people defence system.

Under the guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il who successfully carried forward and developed the President’s military idea and line of self-defence and made sure that the Party’s leadership over the militia forces was firmly realized, the WPRG grew into the paramilitary forces with a clear revolutionary character and into the matchless rank capable of annihilating the enemy independently, to say nothing of the coordinated operation with the regular army.

Now the Juche-oriented paramilitary forces, which have been strengthened and developed ceaselessly under the wise leadership of the President and the Chairman, are continuing the proud course of development as they are led by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The respected General Secretary clearly indicated the tasks and ways for the combat readiness and the preparedness for combat of the paramilitary forces and has led the work to raise a strong wind of training, so a new revolutionary turn is being brought about in bolstering up the fighting power of the WPRG.

The paramilitary parade celebrating the ７５th founding anniversary of the DPRK fully demonstrated to the world the great vitality of the line of putting all the people under arms and the powerful entity of the all-people defence system, which can never be found in any other part of the planet.

The WPRG with invincible power under the leadership of the peerlessly illustrious commander will remain faithful to the honourable mission and duty in safeguarding the motherland and socialist construction and along with such a powerful rank, the DPRK will give fuller play to its prestige and honour as the dignified politico-ideological power and military power.
