Korean People’s Army, Creator of People’s Happiness

Since the word "people" became involved in its name, the Korean People’s Army(KPA) has creditably fulfilled its duty and role as the main force for building a prosperous country and the creator of the people’s happiness, thus leaving remarkable traces in the history of the country.

It is the tradition unique to our People’s Army that it jumps into fire and water unhesitatingly for the sake of the people and makes unsparing devotions for keeping the people’s laughter and bringing happiness to the people.

President Kim Il Sung, who declared that our People’s Army is an army serving the people in his meaningful speech made on the day of declaration of its founding, wisely led it to always play the vanguard role in the worthwhile struggle for the good of the people.

The KPA soldiers performed world-startling miracles and feats in the post-war reconstruction and in the gigantic construction for adorning the era of the Workers’ Party.

Thanks to the energetic leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il who saw that it preserved its popular character invariably, the KPA has distinguished itself as an army deeply rooted among the people, the source and mainstay of its life, and serving them.

The KPA soldiers fully demonstrated the might of men of creation and the people’s army in major fields, upholding the slogan "Let Us Help the People!"

This proud tradition, solidified in every period of revolution, is being carried forward brilliantly as the KPA holds the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un as supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK.

The devoted efforts of the KPA soldiers, who kept in mind the trust of the respected Supreme Commander who put them forward in the first line of the gigantic creation campaign, have given birth to unbelievable construction legends for the past １０-odd years.

In those days, socialist fairyland villages mushroomed and enormous greenhouse farms appeared in places stricken by the frenzies of nature.

Modern streets like Ryomyong Street and Hwasong Street, regional-industry factories, the Masikryong Ski Resort, the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort and other paradises of civilization built by our People’s Army are always full of people’s happy laughter.

The service personnel of the KPA still discharge their mission and duty as creators of the people’s happiness true to the lofty intentions of the respected Supreme Commander.
