Achievements in Work for Comprehensive Mechanization of Agriculture

Thanks to the wise leadership of the great Party Central Committee, remarkable achievements have been made in the work for realizing the comprehensive mechanization of the rural economy.

Since the rural revolution programme in the new era was set forth, lots of farm machine production units across the country have been remodeled and their capacities expanded.

Every year, high-performance farm machines were supplied to the farms, infusing vitality to agricultural production.

A campaign for developing and producing profitable and efficient farm machines which are suitable for our country’s geographical conditions and actualities was accelerated on a nationwide scale.

In the meantime, annual goals for the farm machine development plan were successfully attained, thereby greatly raising the proportion of farm work done by machines.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un said, at the ４th Plenary Meeting of the ８th Party Central Committee, that the plan of the Party Central Committee is to concentrate investment in major farm machine factories and farm machine study field while developing the Kumsong Tractor Factory into a general factory capable of producing various efficient farm machines as well as high horsepower tractors so as to completely update the farm machine industry of the country, and took special crucial measure for its realization.

He personally set the step-wise goals to be achieved by the year ２０３０ and taught one by one that toilsome and labour-consuming farm work should be mechanized first and that large, medium and small farm machines, modern farm machines and simple manual ones should be combined, thereby steadily increasing the proportion of farm work done by machines in the mechanization of rural economy.

He indicated the tasks and ways facing the realization of mechanization of rural economy at the major Party meetings held later including the issues of pushing forward with the work for renovating the farm machine field and pressing ahead with the mechanization of rural economy with clear-cut strategy for developing farm machines and step-wise goals.

Holding up the Party policy, great efforts were made to bolster up the farm-machine industry of the country.

Under the attentive guidance and benevolence of the respected General Secretary, the first- and second-stage remodeling projects of the Kumsong Tractor Factory were successfully concluded, thus laying a firm guarantee for sufficiently ensuring the smoothness of production and quality of products.

At present, the factory produces high horsepower tractors on a serial basis and sends them to farms across the country to greatly help toward the realization of the comprehensive mechanization of rural economy.

The small farm machine production general enterprise organized according to the benevolent measures taken by the Party engages itself in establishing production lines on one hand and pushes forward with the production of both small tractors and tillers on a full scale on the other.

Remodeling projects of farm machine production units were completed one after another and the material and technical foundations were further consolidated.

The respected General Secretary personally initiated the construction of the Farm Machine Institute and took all the necessary measures, and thus led the construction to a splendid completion.

Thanks to the painstaking efforts of the respected General Secretary, lots of farm machines were produced and supplied to farms across the country in ２０２３ and, better still, the varieties of farm machines greatly increased in ２０２４.

In ２０２５, the proportion of farm work done by machines increased as against the previous year, which contributed to the growth of agricultural production.

Farm machine stations in cities and counties turned out handy and simple farm machines, spare parts and accessories.

The day when modern farm machines cover the fields and agricultural workers cheerfully do farm work with machines according to the far-reaching plan of the Party will be brought earlier.
