Snow Philosophy

Many people have composed songs of white snow and depicted it in lots of paintings in praise of the beauty of nature.

But no one has ever attached the philosophical meaning of the revolution and life to the snow.

Only Chairman Kim Jong Il who regarded it as his greatest happiness to devote his all to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of people reflected his noble view of life on the snow.

Once, the Chairman told officials that his snow philosophy is self-sacrifice.

The Chairman made a long journey of devotion until the last moment of his life with an ardent will to devote his all to the country and the people like the snow, which warmly embraces the land in winter and permeates the land as life-giving water.

The world knows no such a peerless patriot as Chairman Kim Jong Il who devoted all his life to the country and people, and passed away on the road for the country and people.

That’s why, to our people, the snow of February when yearning and profound reverence for the Chairman get ever strong means not merely cold snow of nature but the snow glaring as a white gem as every flake of it reflects the whole life of the Chairman.

Let’s Become Roots

Once, the Chairman Kim Jong Il gave a meaningful instruction as to the view of life a revolutionary should possess.

The officials made a pledge before the Chairman to display their responsibility and duty as commanding officials of the revolution in the construction of the socialist power, saying that they would become a leaf of a giant tree.

The Chairman said that he comprehended them, however the root of a giant tree is more meaningful than its leaf and revolutionaries should become the roots.

The giant tree mentioned by the Chairman was just our revolution which is winning victory after victory.

What really support a giant tree are its roots. Although they are not seen, they supply the trunk and foliage with nutrients without letup. So, dense branches, green foliage and strong trunk are all unthinkable apart from their roots.

It was the Chairman’s noble intention that a revolutionary should devote himself to the revolution and uphold the country like roots supporting a giant tree.

Accordingly, the Chairman instructed that the revolution is a giant tree and that if the revolution is to win victory after victory, revolutionaries who are roots of it should be sound and loyal, adding that "Let’s become roots!", this is the view of life the revolutionaries should possess.

Indeed the Chairman devoted all his life like roots supporting the giant tree.

Thanks to his revolutionary career which served as roots and cornerstone, our country has become more powerful and fruits of prosperity have been successively achieved on this land.
