DPRK Women Contributing to Prosperity of Country

The women in our country are leading a worthwhile life as a powerful force pushing ahead one of the two wheels of the revolution.

Since President Kim Il Sung achieved the historic cause of national liberation from Japan’s colonial rule on August １５, １９４５, the Korean women who had lived under the deprivation of rights and contempt, receiving a cruel distinction treatment in family and social life before the country’s liberation, could bring about a dramatic turn in carving out their status and destiny.

In the Republic where the sex equality is regulated legally and traits of attaching importance to the women and respecting them are established, the women have contributed to the prosperity of the country while fully enjoying independent rights.

With the noble spirit of anti-Japanese women guerrillas who dedicated their youth and lives to national liberation, women heroes in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War defended the country’s sovereignty and labor innovators during the period of the postwar reconstruction and socialist construction contributed to its development. Their feats are recorded in the history of the country.

Many women have grown up into deputies to power bodies at all levels and officials of the Party, government organs and social units, thus displaying their dignity as the master of the country.

The women scientists and educators striving for glorifying our country as a sci-tech power and a talent power and those who devote all to assisting the army, regarding it as the greatest patriotic work, have won the respect of all the people.

Nowadays, their feats have shined like gem everywhere including the agricultural and light industrial fronts as well as construction sites.

The country greeting the International Women’s Day is fully seething with the pride of our women vigorously supporting the social and state development with sturdy mental power.
