Groundbreaking Heralding Brilliant Future of Regional Development
On January ２９, ２０２６, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Unnyul County to mark the start of regional development policy-oriented construction for ２０２６.

The groundbreaking news which will bring about a great auspicious event of regional transformation without fail this year, too, has made not only the Unnyul County dwellers but all the people across county full of confidence in and optimism about a new life to be happier and more civilized.
The proud reality of today in which the inauguration ceremony takes place in the year of the groundbreaking and the baton of happiness and prosperity for the people is carried on is the proud fruition brought about by the spirit of making selfless devoted efforts for the people of the Workers’ Party of Korea which spares nothing for the people.
According to the Party’s Regional Development ２０×１０ Policy on building modern regional-industry factories in ２０ cities and counties in succession every year and concluding it within ten years, the first groundbreaking ceremony heralding the great new era of regional transformation was held with splendor in Songchon County in February ２０２４.
Along with the grand start of the regional-industry revolution, groundbreaking ceremonies of regional-industry factories for the promotion of people’s welfare were held in succession in various cities and counties of the country including Kusong City and Sukchon, Unpha and Kyongsong counties.
Our people greeted the jubilant inauguration season in less than one year since the splendid groundbreaking ceremonies, which adorned the first page of the regional development history of a new era with glory, were held.
Modern regional-industry factories were built in ２０ cities and counties across the country including Orang, Onchon, Kujang, Unsan and Yonthan counties to harden the faith of all the people in the future to be rosier thanks to the benevolence of the WPK.
The gigantic struggle for providing the people with more affluent and civilized life has been carried on more vigorously in ２０２５ as well, following the year ２０２４.
According to our Party’s further expanded regional development policy, the groundbreaking ceremony of hospital and leisure complex in Kangdong County was held to signal the start of the new-year grand construction and ２０ cities and counties in the country greeted the auspicious moment of inauguration in the very year when the start of groundbreaking of regional development policy-oriented construction was declared in various cities and counties including Sinyang and Koksan counties.
The grand start of construction convincing the people of this year’s new victory was declared in various parts of the country including Unnyul, Phyongwon, Kangnam and Maengsan counties, linking the joy of inauguration of last year with this year’s jubilation for groundbreaking.
Those groundbreaking ceremonies held with splendor in different parts of the country every year and inauguration ceremonies held in that year of groundbreaking have further highlighted the great feature of the WPK which makes selfless devoted efforts for the people.
The new regional development policy which reflects our Party’s firm will to make anyone who is born on this land lead an abundant and civilized life under the socialist policy of the state, whether they live in the capital city or regions, in towns or mountain villages is welcomed and hailed by everyone as it clearly indicates the ways of its implementation, and, in particular, all the regional people accept it as their own.
Through the past two years course of implementing our Party’s regional development policy, our people are convinced of the future which will be further civilized and prosperous year after year under the leadership of the WPK while experiencing the validity and vitality of the Party’s policy through their actual life.
Indeed, as there is the WPK which doesn’t feel content in the work for ensuring eternal wellbeing of the people, the wealth of the people will steadily increase on this land and the whole country will be changed into the people’s ideal land good to live in.
