School Site He Personally Chose
One April day in １９６１, President
An official reported him that he was thinking about rebuilding of the school in Sinpho City on its original site.
At that time, the school was adjacent to a factory in the city and it was a very small one-storey building considering the increasing number of students.
The President suggested discussing the issue of school construction first, leaving the consultative meeting till later on.
He said that the students would feel great inconvenience in their study and physical growth as the school bordered on the factory.
He instructed to newly build the school where it could instill fresh vigor into fishermen and personally chose its site at the foot of the mountain in Haesan-dong.
Looking up to the President who was dedicating his precious time to the education of the posterity, the officials were wrapped in great emotion.
Afterwards the construction of the school was propelled quickly. Thus two-storey school building was splendidly erected in a cozy place chosen by the President.
One day in August １９６３, the President who was on his journey of field guidance took a view of the new school building at the Sinpho Station and expressed great satisfaction, saying that it was wonderfully built in a modern way.
Indeed, thanks to his warm loving care, the school could produce lots of scientists, artistes and famous sportspersons including １０-odd heroes.
Recitation of learning and laughter of students are still reverberating sonorously through the school.
