Great Man’s Noble Outlook on People

Believing in people as in Heaven--this has been the invariable political ideal of our Party which will remain the same in the future, too.

President Kim Il Sung covered the thorny path of struggle with the people and for the people, keeping this as his motto since he had embarked on the road of revolution.

The following happened when our country was undergoing the agrarian reform after liberation.

A religious man living in Ryonggang County had been defined as a landlord since he had a small area of field and orchard.

Therefore, he was spending days of agony after having all his land confiscated and being punished with migration to another region.

In fact, he was a conscientious religionist who had lived uprightly without abandoning the Korean’s integrity in the days of the Japanese colonial rule and had faithfully upheld the people’s power after liberation.

Being informed of this incident resulted by some narrow-minded persons, the President noted that the officials had analyzed and implemented it in a distorted manner.

The President expressed his indignation over the fact that they had defined the religious man as a landlord and even driven him out despite the fact that his land was less than 5 jongbo.

Then, he took measures to return his field and orchard.

Consequently, the man had his field and orchard returned and didn’t have to move to another region.

After realizing that the President had resolved their mental sufferings, all the villagers as well as the religious man and his family praised in excitement that General Kim Il Sung, indeed, is the Heaven of Korea, taking care of all the people.

Kang Ryang Uk, who was working as secretary general of the provisional people’s committee, informed the President of the above-said fact and added that he thought just the same as the priest and villagers.

Listening to him, the President warmly replied that it was the people, not him, who had to be upheld as Heaven, which became his faith in the days of revolutionary struggle.

Looking at him with friendly eyes, the President continued that, as priests were preaching the religious precepts given by the God, so he was following certain disciplines in believing in the people as in Heaven.

He taught that the first discipline was to look up to the people as up to the Heaven and serve them, the second one to dedicate himself willingly for the people and the third one to execute everything in reliance on the people and with the strength of the people.

This single fact clearly shows the boundlessly noble outlook on the people cherished by the peerlessly great man.

Indeed, no other man but our President held the people as dear as his own flesh, respected them endlessly as his Heaven and devoted all his life solely to the people’s happiness.

That’s why our people still feel great pride in having made revolution holding up the President and are full of ardent zeal for upholding him till the end of the world.
