Honor of Weaver

Han Myong Hui, a weaver of a silk-spinning combined shop of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, leads a blessed life, enjoying love and respect of the people as a meritorious person of socialist patriotism.

Though she cherished many dreams and noble aspiration when she started her social life after graduating from school, Han became a worker of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill with an ardent zeal for glorifying her youth at the post called by the Party.

As she had such a noble determination, she could get well versed in production processes which even old skilled workers find difficult to operate and win the honor of a fulfiller of two-year, three-year and even five-year plans.

Highly valuing her achievement, the Party called her to the venue of the honorable meeting and honored her with a watch bearing the august name of President Kim Il Sung.

She, who won the honor of a meritorious person of socialist patriotism and became the master of a new luxury house in Kyongru-dong under the unbounded love and trust of the Party, says to herself that our socialist system is the best.

A Farmer Hero’s Way

At the Sinhung Farm in Kangnam County, there can be found a farmer hero who is well known to the whole country. She is Choe Song Ok, a head of vegetable workteam No.１.

When she used to work at the workteam No.４, she charged herself the five-hectares low-yielding fields which was the deadly infertile land among the fields of the farm, and she worked heart and soul.

Her patriotic endeavors were brought to fruition of １３ tons of grain harvest per hectare in that field which had been regarded as a poor land to heavily produce three tons of grains before.

Highly appreciating her patriotic devotion to bumper harvest by fertilizing her farm field into a rich paddy field, the country awarded the title of Labor Hero to her.

On the day of her return to the village with the hero medal, to the villagers, she said with excitement that she, who knew nothing but farming, had never dreamt of being a hero.

And she continued that thanks to the loving care of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un who puts forward the farmers for their devotion with patriotic mind to farming, even an ordinary farmer like her could become a hero.

Now, she, with the will to repay her love and trust, invariably takes her way of devotion to farming.

Ordinary Boy in Mountainous Village Becomes World-class Scientist

Yu Chol Jun, department head of the Material Science Faculty of Kim Il Sung University, is a renowned scientist who was qualified as a professor and a candidate academician in his forties under the warm loving care of the socialist country and advanced new theories of material designing to the surprise of the material scientists of the world.

He is now a special member of an international academic association.

He had been dreaming of being a world-level scientist from his childhood.

He was born into a family of an ordinary soldier in a mountainous village of Kangwon Province and cherished the dream of being a world-class scientist while studying to his heart’s content under the most advantageous socialist educational system.

His dream matured while he was studying at Kim Il Sung University and finally bore its fruit while he was working as a researcher and an educator at the university after his graduation from it.

From an ordinary boy of a mountainous village into a world-class scientist--this fact alone shows that our socialist country is a cradle of genuine life, the one and only in the world.
