Keeping Deep in Mind His Instructions Given That Unforgettable Day

A new milestone was made for the development of our Kwail County on September 20, 2017.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited our county in order to grant the ardent desire of the officials and working people in our county which reaped a bumper harvest of fruits despite his busy work. That day he also went the rounds of the apple field of the work-team No. 10 in the then Sindae Farm where I was working as a work-team leader.

Stepping into the apple field in person, he stroked every single apple heavily hanging in branches and asked about the yield of apples.

After listening to the answer of a senior official in the county that the trees bore 200 apples on an average and some trees bore even 300 apples, the General Secretary expressed great satisfaction, saying that each tree was, indeed, heavily loaded with apples and that just looking at it makes him invigorated.

However until then the accompanying officials couldn’t realize how precious that heavily-loaded apple tree meant to the General Secretary.

It was not long before he stepped the corridor after looking round the pomiculture research institute.

He halted in front of a picture in the wall. There was portrayed an artificial satellite towering high into the sky.

The General Secretary tenderly asked why they depicted an artificial satellite. The senior official in the county answered that the artificial satellite was drawn there as it is the symbol of the national power.

Looking around the accompanying officials, the respected General Secretary said with hearty laugh that it would have been better if they had drawn the tree bearing 300 apples rather than the artificial satellite in the picture, adding that such heavily-loaded apple trees are more powerful than a nuclear bomb.

Apple tree more powerful than a nuclear bomb--this is a remark only the General Secretary, who regards the people’s laughter and happiness as standard of evaluation of national power, can make.

His meaningful instruction that day gave us inexhaustible strength, courage and undying zeal.

This was proved by the fact that in the year following his field guidance the areas with an average yield of 50 tons and even 100 tons of apples per hectare increased in the county.

Whenever we recollect the story about the tree bearing 300 apples, all the officials and working people in our county make a firm determination to substantially contribute to realizing the intention of our Party to provide the people with more delicious and nutritive fruits.
