In Days of Creating Atmosphere of Giving Importance to Education

Noble Intention Associated with High Appraisal

Once, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the newly-remodeled Pyongyang Teachers Training College.

That day he dropped in at a rehearsal room and watched for a while the students in their rehearsal of primary school teaching method.

After watching the process of their rehearsal in which the students held debate after making presentations of the teaching methods they had drawn up by computer, displaying them in the electronic board, the General Secretary said with satisfaction that such a method of discussing was very good and that the college did good in conducting other forms of teaching including the debate in such a way as to cultivate students’ independence and spirit of inquiry.

Then he stressed that a teacher should be able to find words in conformity with the students’ age and psychological peculiarities, possess eloquence and presentation ability and teach well to raise students’ presentation ability.

He highly appreciated the students for their good analysis of each others’ teaching methods and their high level of logical thought.

Upon receiving undeserved appraisal from him, officials, not to mention, teachers and students became full of emotion as they keenly felt the devotion made by the General Secretary who highly appreciated even tiny success the college achieved after visiting it despite his busy schedule.

Looking up to the benevolent image of the General Secretary, teachers and students hardened their will to make positive contributions to the development of the country’s education by further raising their teaching ability.

Work Brooking No Further Delay

One day in August, 2024, the respected General Secretary visited the flood-hit area in Uiju County of North Phyongan Province.

He visited the tents, in which the flood victims were living temporarily, and learnt in detail about their living conditions. Then he asked the officials to distribute confectionary and new clothes he personally brought to the children.

The respected General Secretary showed warm parental care for children, warmly hugging them in new clothes.

The flood victims of Uiju County, who received dreamlike honor, shed tears, overwhelmed by deep gratitude and great happiness.

Casting his tender look at a boy munching on biscuits sitting on his lap and other children laughing and chatting around him, he said that seeing children he felt really encouraged and he learned more clearly for whom we should struggle and we should become stronger.

He said in a meaningful way that we must give education to children no matter how unfavourable the conditions may be.

That moment the officials felt deep remorse for failing to think of giving education to the children but only planning to build houses for the flood victims.

Indeed, the General Secretary’s field guidance that day served as an important occasion that made the officials keenly aware of the fact that the education of the rising generation is the most important of state affairs that could never be given up even if the sky may fall in.
