Policy of Steadily Aspiring to the New and Development

Lots of monumental edifices symbolic of rapid development of our state have been erected across the country under the wise leadership of the great Party, thus presenting an eye-opening appearance of the new era.

Construction, which proves with definite entities the opening-up of new life and civilization, has become a major realm of our struggle, and is a powerful demonstration of the validity and vitality of our Party’s policy on construction.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un said that the Party’s policy on construction is a policy of constantly aspiring to the new and development, and there should be no absolute model or standard in its establishment and implementation.

This instruction clarifying the nature of our Party’s policy on construction reflects his noble idea that our construction is a gigantic struggle for pioneering a new path of civilization satisfying people’s ever-increasing aspiration both in name and reality and that in order to thoroughly carry out it we should make the most of the already accumulated potential for construction and, at the same time, actively aspire to the advanced ones and wage an uninterrupted struggle.

Our struggle for the comprehensive development of socialist construction is a course unprecedented in history and a new road no one in the world has ever taken.

Our idea and course of struggle are just unprecedented ones. That’s why our construction steadily aspires for the new and development as well.

It would be no exaggeration to say that construction, among others, intuitively expresses our Party’s policy of ceaselessly creating and developing new things and helps us get nearer to attainment of our ideals of new civilization and prosperity rapidly.

Every one of those edifices erected recently including 50 000 flats in the capital city, modern neighbourhood-serving networks in the Hwasong area, new regional-industry factories, leisure complexes and regional hospitals built in different parts of the country, the Onpho Working People’s Holiday Camp and the Yombunjin Coastal Park is shinging as a monumental one that comprehensively represents the mature phase of our architecture which has made a rapid leap forward with each passing year.

It is also another precious fruition brought about by our Party’s policy on construction that fundamental changes have been made in people’s way of thinking, fighting spirit and manner of work, and that the fervent patriotic zeal has been turned into the all-people thoughts and feelings and being directed towards the implementation of the decisions set forth at the Ninth Party Congress.

It is the Party’s steadfast will to develop our country into a world-class advanced and highly civilized nation, a prosperous state as soon as possible by further raising the present vigorous spirit.

In January this year, too, the General Secretary set forth the important tasks that would serve as guidelines for implementing the construction policy, stressing that architecture should be steadily oriented to new things and constantly developed as a visual expression of the contemporary ideology and cultural level.

Our Party’s construction policy of constantly aspiring to the new and development will demonstrate the inexhaustible development potential and valiant pioneering spirit peculiar to our state that is confidently ushering in a promising new era of prosperity and give birth to innumerable monumental edifices of new civilization and new wellbeing.
