The days of the past five years were exciting days when our people built excellent Juche-oriented architectural assets on this land to startle the world people, even ourselves.
During the days, our people performed a lot of construction myths and miracles.
Wonderful buildings showing the new appearance of civilization in the era of Workers’ Party have been erected like mushrooms after rain in different parts of the country.
This eye-opening reality is attributable to the strong might of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) which is steadily commanding the new construction revolution.
Our motherland should be the most beautiful, richest and strongest country where all dreams of people are realized and everything for the people should be impeccable even in the distant future. This is the noble intention of the respected General Secretary
The General Secretary in the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held in December ２０２１ said we should continue to usher in the heyday of the capital city construction and open an era when the local areas will change. He declared that it is the Party’s will to wage a new revolution in construction for radically changing the living environment of all the people across the country within ２０ to ３０ years.
The General Secretary with the grand plan to further develop our country in the period of the eighth term of the WPK sent the historic letter "Let Us Lead the Development of Civilization of Our Own Style of Socialism by Waging a New Revolution in Construction" to the participants in the second grand short course of officials in construction sector.
In the letter he clarified the importance of the position and role of the construction sector in the struggle of the present stage, the basic orientation we must follow in construction and the basic requirement we should meet and the tasks and ways for making dramatic progress in construction.
The construction of the country has been powerfully waged on a high stage according to the blueprint for transformation indicated by the General Secretary.
During the days, the General Secretary set forth a lot of ideo-theoretical guidelines, opening up new path of modern architectural development.
In order to make our construction work the one of blazing the trail into the future from A to Z, it is important, while aspiring to the new and development, to design the objects of construction so that they can be multi-functional, multi-purpose and practical in conformity with their characteristics, functions and prospects, the General Secretary said, pointing out a series of deviations revealed in the project.
He said that in construction, quality takes precedence over speed and quality is its lifeblood and that the revolution in construction is the essential prerequisite for our Party’s development strategy.
Thanks to the instructions of the General Secretary, our construction has vigorously advanced leading the work for transformation in overall sectors with powerful driving force during the past five years.
In January last, the General Secretary set forth important tasks to be guidelines in implementing Party’s policy on construction, saying that construction is a revolution disallowing self-congratulation or satisfaction even a moment and that architecture should be steadily oriented to new things and constantly developed as a visual expression of the contemporary ideology and cultural level.
Under the guidance of our Party which is steadily leading the era of new revolution in construction, our people will make construction myths and perform construction miracles in the general advance for implementing the grand plan set at the Ninth Party Congress and proudly open up a new period of construction revolution surpassing the past five years.
