Kyongru-dong with its name meaning a beautiful gem terrace is a great monument to the great devotion of the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un to the people.

On March ２５, ２０２１, the respected Comrade General Secretary looked round the riverside area around the Pothong Gate and unfolded a plan to build a district of modern terraced houses in the sacred place where the residence President Kim Il Sung used is located and present it to the people.

The residence which the President had used for a long time was a precious historic building which clearly showed the popular trait of frugality possessed by the President who allowed no privilege nor special benefits and always shared weal and woe with the people.

The respected Comrade General Secretary made such a noble decision in order to let the history of warm love of the President, the sacred history of the people’s leader, continue forever on this land along with the happy looks of the people.

It is him who said that he felt as if the President had left such an excellent location unused on purpose for us.

Countless are the touching stories associated with the construction of a modern terraced dwelling district.

On April ２, ２０２２, the respected Comrade General Secretary inspected the place where a new cradle for the people was built with splendor.

Then and there, he earnestly noted that there was no flat pulled down in the area and that if any, it was just the residence of the President.

It seemed like the President built luxury houses in the place where his own residence was and handed them all over to his children, he said.
