Remember Noble Spirit Permeated in Our National Flag!

Everyone grows stronger in their love and pride in the national flag along with the flag fluttering high anywhere anytime in our country.

There are also national flags which should be kept deep in the hearts of citizens of this country.

They are none other than the flags defended by the patriots in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War and permeated with their warm blood and soul.

Recorded in the history of the bloody three-year war are portraits of patriotic martyrs who never succumbed even in the last moments of their life to defend the national flag and be proud before the sacred flag as well as the undying feats of the soldiers who flied high the flag of the Republic at the battlefields.

The flags associated with their lofty spirit teach the young generations how they should defend and add glory to our national flag.

Among those flags is a meaningful flag at the Jongphyong County Class Education House.

Jon Man Jong, headteacher of Kwangdok Middle School in the then Kwangdok-myon, secured the flag on the day of the founding of the Republic and flied it high in the school courtyard.

He, who had suffered the bitter sorrow of statelessness before liberation, could lead a dignified and happy life on the high platform of education in the genuine motherland after liberation.

To him, the flag of the Republic meant his home village, motherland and everything of life which could never be stolen again.

With an immovable faith that one is as good as dead when deprived of one’s country, he defended the flag at the cost of his life, never yielding to the enemies’ appeasement and torture.

More than 10 flags of the Republic imbued with the blood and spirit of patriotic martyrs are displayed at the Sinchon Class Education House which shows the noble spirit of patriots who kept their revolutionary faith and integrity even in the face of death.

During the Fatherland Liberation War, all the patriotic martyrs loved the national flag and safeguarded it with one will.

It was just five years when they led a genuine life in the liberated country.

Short as the period was, the first generation of the Republic kept deep in their hearts how precious the happiness they enjoyed under the flag of the Republic was and that all the happiness was the great benevolence of the leader which they had to repay even at the cost of their lives.

Indeed, they were persons who kept it as their pure conscience that our country was the embrace of President Kim Il Sung and that to defend the national flag and live most proudly before it was to repay the great benevolence of the President.

As they had firm faith that the national flag, symbol of the Republic would flutter forever as they had the President, they could meet death without regret and with pride, singing the immortal revolutionary hymn and keeping the sacred flag of the Republic in their chests at their last moments.

To fly higher the national flag protected by the patriotic martyrs, lots of citizens in this country have devoted sweat and blood at their worksites generation after generation.

Our national flag which all the citizens of the country have defended generation after generation will shine forever with victory and glory.
