Our Style Portable Boring Machine Newly Developed

The research group of the Hamhung Prospecting Technology Institute under the South Hamgyong Provincial Prospecting Bureau newly developed a boring machine, which is of great significance in geological survey, in our own way.

The development of advanced portable boring machine capable of conducting geological prospecting for various uses with battery as its power source makes it possible to maximize profits in geophysical exploration, geochemical prospecting, drawing up of geological map according to districts, mineral vein prospecting, estimation of deposits of valuable minerals and others.

As a result, a scientific and technological guarantee was secured for lowering the norm of consumption per unit as much as possible and increasing the accuracy of boring work.

It is a world trend in the field of geological prospecting and at the same time a sci-tech issue to be solved at any cost in all mines of our country to develop a portable boring machine used for mineral, hydrological and basement complex investigations and agricultural soil sampling in mountainous areas and the open air hard of access with limited provision of power.

The importance of the development of portable boring machine which can increase the energy efficiency and the tempo of prospecting work and be used in any place is further highlighted day by day.

Scientists of the Hamhung Prospecting Technology Institute set an ambitious goal for developing portable boring machine capable of further increasing the speed and efficiency of trench work and prospect pit work conducted every year, cutting on lots of labor and materials and eliminating environmental pollution in our own way.

Under the guidance of the Party organization of the provincial prospecting bureau, a development group with members of the institute including Head Kim Chol Sok as its core was formed and research on solving the problem of power which is vital to the development of boring machine conducted day and night.

Officials of the bureau provided necessary materials and gave strength and courage to the research group so that they could fully solve difficult scientific and technological problems without hesitation.

The scientists newly designed and manufactured power transmission part of the boring machine and applied method of charging outdoors by solar panels.

Consequently the first trial product of portable boring machine was manufactured.

The research group improved quality indices of the portable boring machine one by one through the introduction.

Through debates and tests for finding out possibility and method fully suited to the reality, the research group finally completed our style of new portable boring machine.

The process of its introduction proved scientifically that all the indices of the portable boring machine fully conform with the world standard and the machine is of great value for introducing to lots of coal mines across the country.
