Epochal Change Which Only Our Party Can Plan and Bring About
The Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea stressed it as an important achievement made in the eighth term of the Party Central Committee that, every year, a great number of modern dwelling houses for the working people were built at the state expense in urban and rural areas to invariably enforce the communist policy.
For the last five years, our Party vigorously launched rural dwelling construction in all cities and counties across the country while pressing ahead with the construction of ５０ ０００ flats in Pyongyang without a moment’s stagnation. Thus, it ensured that agricultural workers moved into modern new houses, concluded the construction of characteristic dwellings in the Komdok area and built wonderful new houses in the flood-hit areas in North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces.
It is a new feature of the most marked transformation never to be found in the history of the country that the whole country underwent a startling transformation in parallel with the magnificent change brought about to the capital city amid the flames of a new construction revolution.
This is a miracle of history which could be wrought only by the WPK which keeps it as the greatest desire to get rid of the centuries-old backwardness of farms and regions as soon as possible and let all the people in the country lead an abundant and civilized life, and a proud and eye-opening event given birth by our Party in the eighth term of the Party Central Committee.
The respected Comrade General Secretary
He unfolded a grand blueprint for rural housing construction at the ４th Plenary Meeting of the ８th Party Central Committee and clearly indicated the orientation and ways for its implementation.
Better still, he put the Korean People’s Army in charge of construction in the Komdok area and guided a hundred and tens of house designs for tens of times in order to build this area to be a mine city representative of civilization in our era, leading the designers and officials to steadily aspire for new things, free from repetitiveness.
His wise guidance gave birth to a modern large-scale architectural group of tens of thousands of flats in the Komdok area, a gigantic mineral production base, during the ８th term of the Party Central Committee, thereby pioneering a new phase of Juche-based architecture and providing the workers there with a more stable and civilized life.
It is a proud fruition of the devoted efforts of the respected Comrade General Secretary for the people that ideal rural cultural cities and fairyland-like villages could mushroom in the flood-hit areas in North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces.
The respected Comrade General Secretary clarified the orientation and ways of construction to effect a dramatic change in the flood-hit areas by building residential districts as civilized and modern as those in cities and visited the construction sites several times to point out important issues as concerns timely supply of materials and equipment, acceleration of frameworks and enhancement of qualitative level in finishing construction and arrangement of surroundings and formation of landscape.
From such vibrant reality, all the people keenly feel the great fatherly love of the respected Comrade General Secretary and visualize with confidence a rosy future of the best paradise in the world where they will enjoy the best of all good blessings.
