For Peculiar Landscapes
On January １, ２０２３, the respected Comrade General Secretary met with officials and brought greening work to topic while underlining the need for all cities and counties to carry out the rural housing construction plan in a responsible manner.
The officials were lost in thought.
The respected Comrade General Secretary, though he had many things to emphasize to the officials on the first day of the year, gave instructions on afforestation and greening as he attached so much importance to the work.

Task He Personally Assumed
In October ２０２０, the respected Comrade General Secretary inspected the rehabilitation site in the Komdok area in South Hamgyong Province and instructed to create another revolutionary example in regional construction.
That day, he taught, as he had told earlier, it was necessary to map out a planned goal for regional construction and do the construction in a prospective way.
He unfolded a far-reaching plan and master plan to turn the Komdok area, the country’s leading large-scale mineral production base, into the country’s model mountainous city and a mining city next to Samjiyon City.
Then he expressed his determination to newly build ２５ ０００ flats in the Komdok Mining Complex, the Taehung Youth Hero Mine and the Ryongyang Mine in the period of the five-year plan to be set forth at the ８th Congress of the Party.
The officials could picture to themselves the transformation which would arrive in the near future.
Looking around the officials, he pledged to take charge of the project himself and build, together with the People’s Army, mine villages in the Komdok area into the world’s best mining city, the world’s No １ mountainous gorge city to be envied by all the people.
Our people deeply feel that the dramatic transformation the Komdok area underwent for the past several years is a precious fruition of the devoted efforts and pains of the respected Comrade General Secretary who takes charge of gigantic projects for the people’s happiness and civilization and dedicates his all to them.
５４０-odd Formation Plans
When the northwestern part of the country was swept by floods two years ago, the respected Comrade General Secretary decided to turn the flood-hit areas into an ideal rural cultural city and mountainous cultural city and guided the gigantic construction in the van.
In these days, modern multi-storied and low-storied apartment blocks for over １５ ０００ families, schools, hospitals, clinics and others were newly built in slightly over four months, and the embankment project of the Amnok River, river improvement, reconstruction of railways, roads and bridges were pushed forward with, thereby working a miracle in construction history of changing the appearance of the northwestern part of the country beyond recognition.
The respected Comrade General Secretary inspected and completed as many as ５４０ formation plans with his ardent love and affection to provide the flood victims with new homes of civilization.
This single fact conveys the great pains and efforts of the respected Comrade General Secretary who launches large undertakings for the bright future of the beloved people and achieves the best result by braving any challenges.
