93 Years-old Veteran Artist
Ri Ryul Son, well-known for his excellent Korean paintings, is on picturesque Moran Hill to create another work.
Ri of 93 years-old lives in Ryonhwa-dong No. 2, Central District, Pyongyang Municipality.
Ri, who devotes his creative zeal even in the old age of his life, is the doyen in art circles who created many art pieces of national value.
Born into a peasant family before the national liberation, he had been called a prodigy in his village for his inborn talent for art.
He could bring his precious dream and hope into full bloom only after the national liberation. Cherishing the preciousness of the country, he joined the Korean People’s Army and fought bravely during the Fatherland Liberation War.
Thanks to the benevolence of the country, he graduated from Pyongyang University of Fine Arts and since then he taught students for over 40 years
