Sok Yun Gi, Writer Who Contributed to Construction of Revolutionary Literature
Sok Yun Gi made great contributions to the creation of literature portraying the leader as head of the April 15 Literary Production Company, keeping the great trust and expectations of the Party.
Born in 1929, he had suffered every manner of misfortune and pain from childhood and keenly experienced that a human’s dignity and happiness are impossible without a genuine motherland.
That’s why he fought in the past Fatherland Liberation War, wearing the military uniform of revolution.
After the war, he wrote short novel "Second Answer" and medium-length novel "Soldiers" which depicted the mass heroism of the KPA soldiers based on his experience as a soldier.
As a professional writer, he produced full-length novel "Birth of Era" on the theme of the Fatherland Liberation War which proved in an artistic way that the people guided by an outstanding leader are ever-victorious, and full-length novel "Sunflowers, Sunflowers" set in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.
Chairman
With the theory on artistic representation of the leader clarified by the Chairman, Sok Yun Gi wrote full-length novels "The Arduous March", "On the Tuman River", "Green Land" and "Spring Thunder" belonging to the cycle of novels "Immortal History" one after another.
In his works, he wonderfully portrayed the prominent leadership and noble traits of the President who led the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to brilliant victory, thus playing the vanguard role in the artistic representation of the leader.
When the Chairman visited the newly-built April 15 Literary Production Company in April 1987, he was honored to meet him in person.
He was wrapped in boundless excitement, looking up to the benevolent image of the Chairman who was so satisfied that the best conditions and environment for literary production were provided for the writers.
It was thanks to the warm love and care of the Chairman that he could engage himself in literary production full of vigor and passion though he had undergone lots of hardship and was in a physically bad condition.
