The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, held in December ２０２１, was recorded as a historic meeting where the rural revolution programme in the new era for opening up a new heyday of socialist rural development of our style was declared.
The respected Comrade General Secretary taught that it is the most crucial task in the socialist rural construction and a key factor for its victory to make the agricultural workers main players and masters of the rural revolution and stressed that it is of paramount importance to put priority efforts into transforming the thought of agricultural workers and enhancing their political awareness so as to firmly prepare all of them to be rural revolutionaries upholding the Party’s idea of socialist rural construction with loyalty.
He also instructed that powerfully expediting the three revolutions -ideological, technical and cultural- in the countryside is the most important task arising in settling the socialist rural question, and that only when the three revolutions are effectively waged in the countryside, will it be possible to bring about a fundamental change in the aspects of political and ideological awareness, technological knowledge and cultural life of the agricultural workers, and to make them main players and masters of the rural revolution, and artists and enjoyers of modern civilization.
Indescribable indeed are the great efforts and devotions he made for the implementation of three revolutions in the countryside.
His guidance is also associated with the Junghung Farm in Samjiyon City he visited in November ２０２１.
That day, the respected Comrade General Secretary gave instructions as to the issues related to the work of the ri Party committee and stressed the need for it to powerfully push ahead with three revolutions, ideological, technical and cultural, which is the major task of the Party work in the countryside at present.
He also emphasized that what he asked it was to prepare the agricultural workers to be those necessary for the times and those revolutionized and equipped with the Juche idea at an early date and thus make them lead the agricultural sector of the country rather than to produce a few more tons of potatoes.

His instructions pulsate with his lofty intention to train our agricultural workers as reliable masters of rural revolution thoroughly armed with the revolutionary idea and policies of the Party.
In his letter to the participants in the Ninth Congress of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, he earnestly requested the UAWK organizations to focus an all-out effort on training their members to be rural revolutionaries, patriotic agricultural workers, in the new era, who are fully equipped with our Party’s revolutionary ideas and carry out its rural construction plan in the vanguard.
He also underlined the need to disseminate advanced agricultural science and technology and new farming methods to the officials and workers in the agricultural sector through the nationwide computer network at the venue of a meaningful festive reception.
Better still, he carried out the construction of modern rural dwellings in order to let our agricultural workers, upholding the socialist country with grain production, live a happy and civilized life.
Indeed, endless are the energies he devoted to putting forward the agricultural workers as communists possessed of the Juche idea, intelligent workers and masters of new civilization.
His great trust and love serve as the precious nutriment and inexhaustible source with which to train ordinary agricultural workers into rural revolutionaries and patriotic farmers.
The agricultural workers still keep in their minds the benevolent measure he took at a plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee to totally discharge the then cooperative farms from the huge sum of state loans they hadn’t yet redeemed as a part of an important step to reinforce the economic foundations of farms.
Also cherished in their hearts are the precious guidelines and measures of love to let them turn out in farming with confidence after realizing the validity and vitality of the Party’s policy on switching the country’s grain production structure through actual experience, the wonderful scenes of modern rural dwellings and meaningful farm machines threading through farm fields.
Under such great love and trust of his and thanks to such great efforts and pains of his, our agricultural workers are growing up to be the steadfast rural revolutionaries faithfully upholding the Party’s socialist rural construction plan, true patriotic farmers possessed of gem-pure loyalty to the Party and ardent love for the country and reliable masters of implementation of the rural revolution programme in the new era.
Under the wise leadership of our Party, farming has definitely turned scientific, farmers are trained to be students and engineers, and rural people are obviously changing in their way of thinking, rhythm of life and level of culture, which are all great transformations of our rural community.
This proud reality is the fruit of rural revolution in the new era.
The looks of our agricultural workers trained to be communists possessed of the Juche idea, intelligent workers and masters of new civilization under the energetic guidance of the respected Comrade General Secretary vividly show the validity and vitality of the rural revolution programme in the new era and the rosy future to be brought about by it.
A great new history of socialist rural construction continues along with the rural revolution programme in the new era.
