Rich Kelp Harvest Brought About at Sinpho City Offshore Farm

The Sinpho City Offshore Farm, built as a model of offshore farming in the new century, has greeted the second kelp harvesting season since inauguration.

Over one hundred tons of kelp is harvested every day at present.

This proud reality is the clear demonstration of the validity and vitality of our Party’s policy on putting the regional economy on a sure developing track by making good use of the mountains in mountainous areas and the sea in the coastal regions.

The respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un taught at the inauguration ceremony of the offshore farm that its officials, technicians and employees should revitalize offshore aquaculture by drawing on the good experience gained in the first year’s sea farming, continue to play the vanguard role in transforming the structure of the fishing industry on this basis and carry on business management methodologically so as to powerfully guarantee the development of the regional economy.

True to his lofty intention, the farm made scrupulous arrangements for bringing about rich kelp harvest in this meaningful year, the first year for implementing the decisions of the Ninth Party Congress, based on the experience gained in sea farming last year.

It paid primary attention to raising the scientific level to the maximum throughout the whole process ranging from management of farming grounds to maintenance of ecological environment while actively adopting advanced technologies.

As a result, it has further increased the output per hectare.

Now, its officials and employees work by the sweat of their brow to increase the operation rate of ships to the full, manage the farming facilities in a responsible manner and timely harvest full-grown kelp.

Members of the women’s union in the city went out to the field and joined the employees in processing kelp.

This year’s rich kelp harvest at the Sinpho City Offshore Farm verifies that a road to regional development can be opened with certainty when all cities and counties make the best of the natural resources and economic conditions of their regions.
