Supply Work Organized with Urgency

It was one day in May ２０２２, when the state epidemic prevention system had been switched to the top-level emergency anti-epidemic system owing to the unexpected epidemic crisis situation the country was faced with.

Officials of the Cabinet, the Ministry of Commerce, the Pyongyang Municipal Party Committee and the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee came to the Pyongyang Children’s Foodstuff Factory.

Cars carrying officials of materials supply stations for nurseries and kindergartens in different districts of Pyongyang Municipality also entered the gate of the factory one after another.

They got together for the supply of milk powder and rice powder for babies.

Here goes the story about why such work had been organized.

That day, a senior official of the Ministry of Commerce received the impressive news that the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un had paid deep attention to the issue of supplying milk powder and rice powder for babies.

Even the parents of the babies didn’t know what to do as it was the period of unexpected, unimaginable difficulties.

No one ever expected that the respected Comrade General Secretary, who was shouldering the heaviest burdens caused by the sudden emergency anti-epidemic crisis, would take measures for supplying milk powder and rice powder to babies.

Thanks to the measure of love taken by the respected Comrade General Secretary, the work for supplying babies’ milk powder and rice powder was organized in all provinces.

When He Visited Newly-built Kindergarten

One day in May ２０１２, the respected Comrade General Secretary visited the newly-built Kyongsang Kindergarten.

After praising that the newly-built building of the kindergarten was singular, he looked around the playground and courtyard.

Suddenly, a shadow passed over his face.

He taught the officials that the children could get hurt if they fell from the swing as the playground had been paved with pitch like the rest of the courtyard.

Then he pointed out that the playground had to be covered with sand or greens lest the children should get hurt.

The officials were touched by the attentive care of the respected Comrade General Secretary who saw through even the tiny defect no one had taken notice of.

That day, the officials kept in their minds once again the noble intention of the respected Comrade General Secretary that no tiny shortcoming should be allowed in the work for the rising generation.

Personally Naming Hospital for Children

Early in October ２０１３, the respected Comrade General Secretary inspected the construction site of the Okryu Children’s Hospital nearing completion again.

Looking round several treatment rooms, he expressed great satisfaction that it became possible to bring up our adorable children, treasures of the country, into healthy and stout masters of the future now that a modern hospital had been built though the country was still in a difficult condition.

That day, he brought the issue of naming the hospital to topic.

At that time, it was thought to be preferrable to give the children’s hospital a numerical name.

After referring to such fact, he said the hospital should be named "Okryu Children’s Hospital".

He continued that the word "Okryu" is, like "Ryugyong", a nice one descriptive of Pyongyang and that the nameplate had to be made well as befitting the name itself.

The officials were full of strong emotions, looking up to the respected Comrade General Secretary, who personally named the hospital, so pleased that a modern and wonderful hospital for the adorable and lovely children was built.

Indeed, the beautiful Okryu Children’s Hospital which was built in the Munsu area of Pyongyang was a brilliant fruit of ardent love of the respected Comrade General Secretary for the rising generation.
