Miracles Unprecedented in World History of Wars
A combat for liberating Seoul is accurately recorded in the victorious history of the Fatherland Liberation War in which our young Republic defeated the allied forces of world imperialism headed by the U.S. imperialists who had never suffered defeat in its １００-odd-years history of aggression.
The victory in the combat for liberating Seoul, the most record-breaking and eye-opening offensive operation in the world history of wars and a world-startling event, recorded in the history the precious truth that we can defeat any powerful enemy and perform miracles when we have wise leadership of the leader and all the army and people heroically fight, upholding the ideas and leadership of the leader with one mind and will.

Choosing the main thrust of the counter-offensive strategy, the President taught to the officials of the Ministry of National Defence that the key link in carrying out our Party’s strategic policy was to punish at one blow the enemies deployed along the ３８th parallel and in the area of Seoul.
And he drew a red arrow in the direction of the Uijongbu-Seoul-Suwon on the military map and then powerfully marked the Seoul area with an encircling ring.
He said to the officials wrapped in surprise and suspicion that the main group of the enemy is thronged into the area along the ３８th parallel and in the Uijongbu and Seoul areas north of the River Han and that only a small force remained in the south of the river.
Under these circumstances, if we encircle and annihilate the main group of the enemy in the ３８th parallel and the Seoul area in a short span of time, we can rapidly expand successes to the strategic depth of the enemy, he noted full of confidence.
The President set the main direction of the Korean People’s Army’s attack to Seoul with his far-sighted acumen and judgment and resolute decision. This was a great event unprecedented in the world history of military art.
In accordance with the policy advanced by the President, our valiant officers and men of the KPA frustrated the enemy’s attack at a single blow, went over to a decisive counter-offensive throughout the front areas and advanced towards Seoul.
The enemy on the western front, who started to retreat from the territory of the DPRK just ９０ minutes after the invasion, was driven into Seoul and its vicinity.
As a result, the balance of forces between friend and foe on the Seoul line was tremendously different.
The enemy made desperate efforts to defuse the rapidly-changing adverse circumstances at any cost.
The President boldly took measures to advance tank units ahead of others to annihilate the enemy.
The tankmen, mindful that the combined advance of the tank was an important task to make a breakthrough in the counter-offensive operation advanced by the President, dashed forward, covering the enemy’s position with endless tracks.
In order to ensure the successful operation for liberating Seoul, the President saw that a small strategic unit equivalent to the force of a battalion was first infiltrated into Seoul to attack the enemy’s major commanding bases and government organs, thus confusing and disintegrating the enemy from within.
According to the combat mission given by the President, the small unit advanced into Seoul City at night and made concerted attack upon tens of targets, divided into several assault teams.
Concurrently, a small unit consisting of mechanized infantries and five tanks including tank No. ３１２ went into Seoul City to hit the major targets, thus laying favorable conditions for large units to attack.
The enemies driven to utter despair stood against the units of the KPA rushing into the city, but they were powerless before the KPA soldiers making a fierce attack.
The tank No. ３１２ charged into the puppet Capitol building, waging a bloody fight.
Ko Hyon Bin jumped off the tank and ran to the flagstaff. And he tore the cursed flag of the enemy dragged down from the flagstaff to pieces, stamping it on and hoisted the flag of the DPRK.
The flag of the Republic with a lucid five-point star began to flutter in the sky above Seoul.
Seoul City was completely liberated in a few hours after the general offensive started.
It took only ７２ hours to liberate Seoul after frustrating the enemy’s invasion and launching the counter-offensive.
This miraculous victory was a brilliant example of the modern warfare, which showed the President’s gifted strategy and tactics and unique military tactics.
Warmly congratulating the service personnel of the KPA who liberated Seoul, the President highly praised it as a great political and military victory that the frontline combined units in the direction of the main attack liberated Seoul, the stronghold of the enemy, three days after the start of the counter-offensive.
The operation for liberating Seoul was, indeed, a brilliant victory that can be achieved only by the President who launched a bold military operation, smashing flunkyism and dogmatism with his unique idea of counter-offensive strategy and Juche-oriented military war methods.
Thanks to the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander, our people achieved a brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and emerged as heroic people.
Victory is the proud tradition of the DPRK and defeat is the disgraceful tradition of the U.S. imperialists.
