Once, the respected Comrade General Secretary
After going round various parts of the factory, the respected Comrade General Secretary said with a broad smile on his face that they did lots of work, highly appreciating the officials and employees of the factory for splendidly establishing new processes needed in the building materials industry sector by launching a project for expanding capacity on their own despite harsh circumstances in which they had to produce and supply tiles to construction sites.
The officials were very excited by his praises they hardly deserved.
The success the factory achieved was unthinkable apart from the loving care of the respected Comrade General Secretary.
The respected Comrade General Secretary gave courage and encouragement to them to turn the factory into a comprehensive building materials production base, gave precious instructions on several occasions as to the issues for the supply of raw materials, fuel and electricity and the transportation and took all manner of benevolent measures to normalize the production.
Thanks to his attentive loving care, the factory could be transformed into a prototype factory in self-reliance displaying our strength and technology.
That day the respected Comrade General Secretary warmly said that the officials’ pride in work, enthusiasm for work, enterprising way of work and patriotism must be valued, adding that the officials and employees of the factory were embodying patriotism through practices, not with words.
Indeed, his field guidance at the factory served as an important occasion in implanting in the mind of the officials the immutable truth that genuine patriotism lies in self-reliance and that nothing is impossible when the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance is further displayed.
More Important Than Anything Else
One day in December ２０２４, the respected Comrade General Secretary attended the inauguration ceremony of dwelling houses in flood-hit areas of North Phyongan Province.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Party and the government of the Republic, the respected Comrade General Secretary extended warm thanks to the service personnel, members of youth shock brigades, officials and working people of North Phyongan Province and helpers from across the country who built cultured rural residential areas that reflect the original features of our style of socialism and its future.
Then he warmly instructed:
We made clear our determination to remain faithful to our approach to resolving problems by our own efforts at all costs. This was because we were confident in our own strength and, more importantly, our self-supporting spiritual and material asset that had to be developed further during this challenging project was more precious than anything else.
It was a precious instruction teaching that one can bring out an epochal transformation only in reliance on his own strength, the motive force and potential of his own country and that the struggle for opening up a new era of comprehensive state development can become successful only by dint of self-reliance and self-sustenance.
He continued that it was the Party’s intention to further cultivate our internal forces for braving any manner of difficulties by our own strength while winding up the campaign on schedule without fail by dint of the united strength of the whole country, with a belief in the strength of our army and people including the young people and that the rehabilitation project was an occasion for further cultivating the spirit of self-sustenance.
The meaningful instructions he gave on the inaugural day implied that the inexhaustible driving force for the state development is none other than the spirit of self-reliance.
