Counting Number of Grains on Rice Plant
One day in August ２０２３, the respected Comrade General Secretary
Having guided the scattering of agrochemicals by planes personally, he reached a field of the Wollang Farm in Anbyon County and told an accompanying official to fetch some rice ears.
He then held a plant of rice, counted the number of grains on it and told the officials to follow his suit.
The officials found it so touching to think how anxious he was about the fields stricken by the flood to guide the agrochemical scattering in the parching heat for a long time and learn about the number of grains per ear in person.
After listening to the reports of the officials a little later, he kindly taught that, now that all the rice plants had eared up, it was imperative to increase the １ ０００-grain weight and ripening rate in increasing yield.
Being informed of the work conducted in the agricultural sector, the respected Comrade General Secretary underlined the need for flood-stricken farms to buckle down to a campaign for increasing grain production with courage and to produce full yields in arable lands protected thanks to the patriotic loyalty of the soldiers of the people’s army.
Indeed, every word was full of sincerity as he held so dear the crops agricultural workers cultivated by the sweat of their brow and the devoted efforts our soldiers made to protect them.
The officials keenly felt in their hearts that the rich autumn in our country is not a gift of nature but an outcome of warm love of the great father for the people.
Emblem Reflected in Souvenir Photo
It was in September ２０１７, that the respected Comrade General Secretary inspected Farm No. １１１６.
While learning about the work of the farm in front of its room for education in revolutionary history, he noticed a building and asked if it was the newly-built research institute.
After listening to an official answering in the affirmative, he gladly told that a fancy building had presented itself there and suggested going and having a look at it.
In front of the building of the institute, he appreciated the efforts of the soldier builders who had completed the construction successfully in slightly over four months.
Then he cast his eyes on the emblem on the front side of the building.
Looking at the emblem, depicting a key surrounded by fully ripe rice grains, he asked what the emblem implied.
An official next to him answered it reflected the will of researchers in the field of agricultural science to play the key role in making a breakthrough in the agricultural front, the forefront of defending socialism.
The respected Comrade General Secretary said with a broad smile on his face that it was meaningful indeed.
When he was having a souvenir photo taken with the researchers with the research institute for a background, he reminded the photographers to do full justice to the emblem of the institute.
The officials’ hearts were full of the love and benevolence of the respected Comrade General Secretary who valued so much and appreciated so highly the sincerity of the researchers to contribute to the country’s agricultural development with greater scientific research achievements.
