We Will Convey His Boundless Love through Generations

His Request to Be Cherished Forever

I am now eighty-years old.

However, I still vividly remember the day tens of years ago when I met President Kim Il Sung.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the Constituency No. 7 for the election of deputies to the South Phyongan Provincial People’s Assembly on November 21, 1993 and met me who was a candidate for deputy.

At that time, I was working as a section chief of the Mechanical Engineering Institute of the then Academy of Science. I was much excited to meet the peerlessly great men so unexpectedly.

After listening to my humble determination to repay the boundless benevolence bestowed on me with a broad smile on his face, the President made a request of love and trust that I become a faithful servant of people by doing work well and personally voted for me.

I could lead a worthwhile life thanks to the benevolent loving care of the President who saw that I, son of an ordinary worker, studied at Kim Chaek University of Technology, put forward me as a labor hero known to the whole country in my twenties and trained me to be a deputy and an official.

Though my physical condition is not as good as it used to be, I will devote all my wisdom to upholding our Party’s policy on science and technology as long as I live, always remembering the request of the President.

Whenever Walking along Meaningful Road between Fields

I still remember one June day in 1994 when the President visited our Onchon County at the end of his life.

That day he dropped in at a field of a workteam of the then Kumdang Co-op Farm. Satisfied at the good crops, the President asked me, who was the then chairman of the county co-op farm management committee, about the county’s farming that year.

I replied that all the fields had a good crop despite unusually-capricious spring weather thanks to the President who sent fertilizer. Then he wore a broad smile, saying that good harvest of that year despite the shortage of fertilizer was owing to the fact that the Party vigorously pushed forward with the gathering of humus soil.

That day the President taught in detail the ways for raising crops under the sweltering sun.

Afterwards, our county was provided with thousands of tons of fertilizer associated with the President’s love with deep emotion and reaped a rich harvest in all fields that autumn.

Whenever I walk along that meaningful road between fields, I harden my will to do my bit, small as it may be, for implementing the Party’s agricultural policy true to the noble desire of the President who made devoted efforts to the development of the country’s agriculture till the last period of his life.

Seeing New School Uniform

I became wrapped in boundless yearning for the President whenever I see the looks of students in new school uniforms associated with the Party’s love and benevolence.

One balmy spring day of April nearly 50 years ago, the President visited Yonphung Senior Middle School (at that time) in Anju County to see us who were provided with new school uniforms on the same day. He asked if the sweater fitted us perfectly and the shoes were comfortable.

Looking round boy students who dressed themselves up with dark-blue tetron suit and synthetic leather shoes, the President said with pleasure that they looked more gentleman than him.

Then he laughed a hearty laugh, saying that it was the happiest day in his 60 years’ life.

He even took photos of numerous students in new school uniforms one by one in person and when taking a collective photo, he saw that girls, boys and teachers had photos taken respectively.

Many years have passed since that unforgettable day of glory and my hair got grey, too. But I still recollect with deep emotion the benevolent image and attentive voice of the President.

So, looking up to the statue of the President in the ward, I make up my mind to fulfill the sacred mission and duty as teacher revolutionary by bringing up students well to be future masters of the country.
