With Spirit of Wartime

The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was unthinkable apart from the revolutionary optimism of our army and people who fought indefatigably in the face of any adversity with an unshakable faith that they would surely emerge victorious as long as they had President Kim Il Sung.

It was none other than the victorious wartime generation that added another shining page to the history of our country by giving birth to Chollima Korea on debris.

Even in the difficult postwar days, our wartime victors were always full of laughter and songs though they had to build cities, streets and factories which were reduced to ashes with bare hands, tightening up their belts.

During the period of postwar reconstruction and Chollima upsurge, people merrily danced and sang everywhere and everyone was full of passion and optimism.

The wartime generation cherished an unchangeable creed that the difficult conditions and environment they were in were nothing compared to the harshness of war days when bullets showered like rain and that they could demonstrate the mettle of Koreans in rehabilitation, too, when they lived and fought in the wartime spirit.

Thus, our working class repaired the electric furnace in forty days after the war to produce the first charge of molten iron, and, in the period of Chollima upsurge, manufactured the first tractor and truck.

Meanwhile, our farmers brought about rich harvests in the lands once filled with bomb craters.

Like this, lying beneath all the miracles our victorious wartime generation achieved in the period of postwar rehabilitation and Chollima upsurge was revolutionary optimism.

Revolutionary optimism is the mainspring of miracles.

It is the precious truth of life our wartime victors left to the posterity that optimism about the future engenders extraordinary strength.

Revolutionary optimism is not what is indispensable only in times of national crisis.

It is an issue of greatest importance to have firm faith in fresh victory now that our revolution has entered a phase of great upsurge.

The higher goals we set and more difficulties we are faced with, we should make endeavors, full of revolutionary enthusiasm and optimism in worksites and posts like the defenders of the country in the １９５０s.

The pluck and fighting morale of braving hardship and turning the impossible into the possible and bad luck to good blessings, confident that there is always a way out, are unique to the people possessed of revolutionary optimism.

All the people are full of unyielding faith and revolutionary enthusiasm for bringing about prosperous future with their own hands no matter what trials they are faced with on the road of following the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Our dreams and ideals will surely be realized when we live and struggle optimistically with the faith that the socialist cause of our style will emerge victorious under the leadership of the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un, like the defenders of the country in the １９５０s who recorded the great history of war victory who surmounted all the challenges with the spirit of revolutionary optimism based on the immovable faith that they would surely win victory as they had the President.
