Whenever Hearing Happy Laughter at Children’s Camp
At present the Songdowon International Children’s Camp is enlivened by children’s union members having a pleasant time of camping.
Seeing the bright and cheerful looks of our children conducting a variety of camping activities such as swimming and sports and amusement games, our people warmly recollect warm love and affection of the respected Comrade General Secretary
One day in July twelve years ago, the respected Comrade General Secretary visited the Songdowon International Children’s Camp.
Early in June that year, the respected Comrade General Secretary had inspected the nose-dive waterslide the Korean People’s Army manufactured in our own style and instructed officials to install it in the outdoor wading pool of the Songdowon International Children’s Camp by the end of the month, adding that campers would be so much delighted.
Thereafter, soldier-builders came to the camp and the waterslide was perfectly arranged in a short time.
That day he examined the waterslide for a long time. When he was informed that campers hadn’t yet tried waterslide, the respected Comrade General Secretary expressed his regret at the fact. Underscoring the need to put the operation of the nose-dive waterslide on a normal track from the next camping term, he warmly instructed officials to make the Songdowon International Children’s Camp resound with children’s laughter.
Then he looked round the newly arranged mirror house and aquarium full of rare fishes.
It was quite a long time before he finished looking round the mirror house and aquarium.
After being reported that the nose-dive waterslide came into operation, the respected Comrade General Secretary again headed for the outdoor wading pool.
Examining the quality of the inside and outside of the horizontal track of the waterslide, he paid deep attention to all the issues related to the safety and use of the waterslide.
He also went round the Songdowon Railway Station under construction and outdoor bathing resort and gave precious instructions on building the camp in a qualitative way and managing and operating it well.
Indeed, the respected Comrade General Secretary’s field guidance at the camp that day made our people keenly realize how dear and precious he regards our children.
