On Road of Bringing up Those Possessed of Great Spiritual Strength
We Should Attain Self-sufficiency in Everything
The respected Comrade General Secretary
Making the rounds of the tree nursery, he was glad all the time. He said he was most pleased to see the facilities manufactured with our own efforts and we should attain self-sufficiency in everything by displaying the spirit of self-reliance as the slogan "Self-reliance, self-sufficiency" on the wall of the production site reflected.
He continued that the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery is the fruition of patriotism of the officials and working people in Kangwon Province who built the tree nursery on their own.
Receiving undeserved praises, the officials were deeply moved.
The General Secretary put forward the strength, abilities and patriotism of the people in Kangwon Province as a model to be followed by the whole country in disregard of his painstaking efforts.
Looking round the officials wrapped in great emotions, the respected Comrade General Secretary earnestly said that we should intensify ideological education among the Party members and other working people so that they can work hard upholding the slogan of self-reliance and self-sufficiency as intended by the Party.
Indeed, the respected Comrade General Secretary’s field guidance at the nursery made the officials keep in their mind again that self-reliance and self-development is the fundamental key to turning our country into the more prosperous people’s paradise as early as possible.
His Intention Reflected in High Appraisal
Once, the respected Comrade General Secretary gave field guidance at the Pyongyang Essential Foodstuff Factory.
Watching the screen showing the production process of monosodium glutamate, the respected Comrade General Secretary asked what substance was used for producing monosodium glutamate.
Listening to the answer that the factory established the process of producing monosodium glutamate by making sugar with corn starch, the respected Comrade General Secretary highly appreciated the success.
Saying that we should thoroughly reject the lean-to-importation attitude and put the production process on a modern basis by manufacturing equipment by our own efforts, the respected Comrade General Secretary added that to get rid of proclivity to import is also the struggle to defend socialism.
It was such a valuable instruction that made the officials keenly realize the truth that defending the country with arms was not the only struggle to defend socialism and to discard the spirit of relying on others in all sectors of social life and create things of our own one after another with confidence in our own strength and technology, too, was equal to a war without gunfire.
The officials hardened their will to fully display the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, bearing deep in mind the precious instruction of the respected Comrade General Secretary.
