Story about Dining Room of Orphanage

One day in April 2015, the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Wonsan Orphanage nearing completion.

When he dropped in at the dining room, he noted it was nice of them to have arranged spaces for portioning out food and clearing up the table separately and that the children of the orphanage should be made to fetch their meals served on the tray and to bring back their bowls after the meal on their own.

He always paid deep attention to bringing up the orphans to be civilized and highly independent.

Presently, he asked how they supplied the children’s meals.

An official engaged in the construction answered that the meals were supposed to be brought from the cookroom by elevator.

Then the respected Comrade General Secretary pointed out the defect revealed in the design that it was not suitable to arrange the cookroom on the first floor and make the foods made there be conveyed to dining rooms on the second and third floors.

After a while, he went out of the dining room and was heading upstairs when he suddenly stopped and quietly repeated that the dining room was surely defective.

Then he returned to the dining room.

He went out to the balcony of the dining room and looked down at the space below.

Then he proposed it would be nice to annex a round-shape dining room outside the first floor.

Continuing that the already-made dining rooms had to be converted to play rooms, he said he felt disappointed at the cookroom and dining rooms and it was rather preferable to do so.

Then he assigned an official in charge of construction to finish the construction of the dining room before June 1.

Thus, a dining room was built on the first floor and a play room, dancing room and children’s reading room on the second, third and fourth floor splendidly in a short period of a single month.

When he visited the orphanage again on June 1, the respected Comrade General Secretary looked round the new dining room and repeatedly expressed satisfaction.

Indeed, our children who are in the embrace of the benevolent father who looks after all the children in the country with utmost care are truly lucky ones.
