In Order to Bring Up Those with Strong Spirit of Self-reliance
Laborsome yet Worthwhile Job
One day in January ２０１７, the respected Comrade General Secretary
That day, he learnt in detail about the construction of the factory, production process and production capacity and stressed the need to increase the proportion of home production.
Then he dropped in at the storehouse.
Feasting his eyes on the materials piled up there, he wore a bright smile of satisfaction.
The officials were wrapped in excitement, too.
It was because the materials which filled the stores including the bag canvas made at the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill and zippers at the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site Souvenir Factory were all made in our country.
Full of contentment, the respected Comrade General Secretary said in an emotional tone that it was so good to produce bags on our own with our own raw and other materials at the factory built by our efforts.
He continued it was so pleasing now that we did a laborsome yet worthwhile job though it was not by any means easy to produce bags as well as school uniforms, notebooks and textbooks by ourselves to provide them to the children and that he regarded it as delight and happiness.

His words full of pride reflected his great joy over the fact that it was made possible to implant the spirit of self-reliance in the minds of the officials and working people and give the young children attachment to and pride in their own things.
Looking up to him, the officials keenly felt that the creations of happiness on this land are shining thanks to the spirit of self-reliance and self-development implanted by the respected Comrade General Secretary.
High Appreciation
In December ２０１６, the respected Comrade General Secretary visited the December ６ Children’s Camp in Kangwon Province.
Displayed at the entrance hall of the gymnasium at the camp which was remodeled were samples of finishing building materials produced by the province itself.
With a beaming face, the respected Comrade General Secretary praised that it was so nice of the factories and enterprises in the province to have produced tens of kinds of finishing building materials on their own.
What was praiseworthy was the spirit in which they buckled down to the production of finishing building materials with their efforts and it was equal to a struggle for putting an end to proclivity to import, he continued.
Looking up to his benevolent image, the officials were filled with great excitement.
Watching the finishing building materials one by one with care, he appreciated that it was the fruit of the spirit of self-reliance and self-development of officials, Party members and working people in Jagang Province that the province raised the proportion of home production of finishing building materials by turning them out by itself.
Thanks to the trust and love of the peerlessly great man who values the spirit of self-reliance so much and puts it forward, all the people in this country are growing up to be strong self-reliant fighters.
