When they felt constraint as the room was cramped, the President told them it would be easier to get acquainted if they sat closer to each other.
He let them be seated in a circle next to him and had a talk with them for several hours.
Reading that the soldiers were reluctant to leave after the talk, the President arranged a cheerful recreation party and gave them a big hand before anyone else, after they sang songs.
Pleasantly complying with the soldiers’ request for his own song, the President sang a song.
The song of the great man calling for the spring of victory reverberated into the evening sky over Ryongpho-ri at the foot of Ahobiryong mountains.
His song reflecting the immovable faith in sure victory infused the will to annihilate the enemy into the hearts of the soldiers.
The soldiers of the People’s Army followed his lead in tears of excitement.
When he visited the Ryongpho Revolutionary Site eight years ago, the respected Comrade General Secretary
Up along the path on the slope of the hill at the back of the Ryongpho Revolutionary Site is the place where the President delivered a speech before the officers and men of the Infantry Division No. ７.
Now there is at least a high-pitched pavement there but it was a rough mountain trail heavily wooded with shrubs at the time when the President visited the officers and men.
Along this steep and thorny path, the President climbed up to the ridge and made a stirring speech "Enhance the combat efficiency of the unit and make our coastal defence impregnable".
That day’s important speech by the President is an immortal programme which set forth the orientation and ways for bringing about a turning phase of war.
The sloping path on the hill is kept in the hearts of our people and service personnel as a historic path conveying the great personality of the President.
During his tour of the revolutionary site, the respected Comrade General Secretary offered to walk along the path to the place where the President made a speech before the officers and men of the Infantry Division No. ７ as the President did.
He then noted that, though a road was paved for cars to go up to the speech site now, there had only been a wiggly path when the President had ascended the hill, and said with boundless yearning how exhausted our President must have been to climb along such a rugged path.
Eight years ago, the respected Comrade General Secretary warmly instructed that he felt so solemn to think that the President made a plan for the operation for the victory in the war all night, staying in an ordinary cottage.
This is where the President stayed and mapped out the plan for the operation for defending the coast in the Wonsan area.
The room occupied by the President was a humble cottage which was so common in our country at that time whose walls were plastered with mud and whose entrance door was a papered partition.
In this small room, the President unfolded his operational map on a low desk and drew red arrows for annihilating the enemies to formulate the plan for the operation for defending the coast in the Wonsan area.
He clarified in detail the combat tasks to be carried out by the unit and unfolded a plan to exterminate all the enemies on the sea and at the coast.
There are numberless stories about commanders of the army who led the war to victory but there has never been such a peerlessly brilliant commander who shaped his great strategic and tactical ideas of eternal vitality at such a plain cottage.
Under the guidance of the respected Comrade General Secretary, this house telling the unforgettable stories of those days will shine forever as an immortal monument which conveys the exploits the President performed to achieve the war victory.
