Peerlessly Great Men and Juche-based Women Movement

The Korean women movement is the Juche-based revolutionary women movement pioneered, strengthened and developed under the guidance of the great leaders and the great Party.

Seeing through the importance of solving women question in revolutionary struggle in the early days of his revolutionary career, President Kim Il Sung saw to it that the Anti-Japanese Women’s Association, a revolutionary-type women mass organization, was formed.

The President created a genuine model of sex equality and the emancipation of women within guerilla bases and the ranks of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army in the days of the bloody anti-Japanese war, and clearly indicated the ways for realizing the equality of the sexes in the "Ten-Point Programme of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland".

After liberation of the country, the President founded the Korean Democratic Women’s League, a political organization for women, on July ３０, １９４６, and saw that the Law on Sex Equality was promulgated in order to let our women, who make up half of the country’s population, fulfill their responsibility and role in building a new democratic Korea.

The President made public immortal classic works including "On revolutionizing and working-classizing women" to provide important guidelines for finally settling the women question and wisely led the struggle to this end.

Chairman Kim Jong Il brought up our women to be women revolutionaries while firmly defending and glorifying the President’s idea and exploits related to solving women question.

The Chairman issued immortal classic works including "Women Are a Dynamic Force Pushing Ahead with the Revolution and Construction", and thus put the dignity and honor of women on the highest level and established the social trait of respecting women throughout the country.

He made sure that a legal guarantee for steadily raising the position and role of women and defending their dignity was ensured and the struggle for embodying it pushed ahead on a nationwide scale.

Thanks to the benevolent loving care of the Chairman, song of women could be resounded far and wide on this land and numerous legendary tales of love born one after another.

The history of love and trust of the President and the Chairman who stoutly trained women as the powerful force pushing one of the two wheels of the revolutionary chariot is steadily carried on under the guidance of the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Having attached great significance to the position and role of women in building a socialist power, the respected Comrade General Secretary set forth guidelines to be held fast to in the women movement.

Under his wise leadership and attentive care, our women are leading a worthwhile life, being respected as the flower of the family, life and country in the struggle for building a socialist power.

Indeed, the history of the Korean women movement is the glorious course in which the peerlessly great men’s outstanding idea of solving women issue has been brilliantly embodied and the annals of worthwhile struggle in which Korean women have left their beautiful and lofty traces on this land while enjoying the genuine independent dignity and right.
