I Will Cherish That Day’s Honor All My Life
Nowadays, Wonsan City is crowded with visitors to the Wonsan Kalma coastal tourist area every day.
Whenever I see the happy looks of people from across the country enjoying themselves, I became wrapped in peculiar emotions.
It is because I recollect the benevolent image of the respected Comrade General Secretary
It was when the temperature climbed up to over ３９ degrees Celsius.
On that Sunday when all the people were taking a rest, the respected Comrade General Secretary visited the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery.
That day, after going round various parts of the tree nursery, the respected Comrade General Secretary also dropped in at our house of ordinary workers’ couple.
He unreservedly sat on the floor of the room and asked me what I did at the tree nursery, where I served the army and when I was discharged from military service.
He affectionately said that it was very good of us to volunteer to work at the post the Party cares for and attaches the greatest importance to and make devoted efforts.
We were greatly moved by his undeserved praise as we keenly felt the world of his attentive love.
He instructed that we should take deep roots in the tree nursery with the mindset of taking a military code of conduct in front of the colors and devote patriotic sweat to the prosperity of the country.
It was, indeed, a precious instruction teaching with what mindset our couple should invariably cover the road of patriotism.
Before leaving our house, the respected Comrade General Secretary proposed having a souvenir photo taken with the owners of the house in commemoration of his visit to the house. Then he had a souvenir photo to be handed down through generations taken with us.
That day, the respected Comrade General Secretary also arranged a souvenir photo session in consideration of the ardent wish of the employees of the tree nursery and their family members.
The day already got dark and floodlights were installed at the venue. In addition, car light illuminated the venue.
Finally, the employees and their families had a photo session with the respected Comrade General Secretary.
Whenever I look at the glorious souvenir photo, I am filled with remorse for not entreating the respected Comrade General Secretary to take even a moment’s rest looking at his clothes dripping wet with perspiration but only rejoicing to see him.
It is the unanimous aspiration and will of all the employees of the tree nursery and their family members to invariably cover the road of loyalty and repayment, remembering the great trust and love of the respected Comrade General Secretary forever.
