"Special Task" for Sake of a Soldier
One autumn day in 1939, a few guerillas were assigned to a "special task" by President
They were greatly surprised as they never imagined that they would go on badger hunting at a time when a bloody resistance war against the Japanese imperialists was being waged.
There was a reason why the President assigned such a "special task" to them.
At that time, among the anti-Japanese guerillas was also 17-year-old O Jae Won.
He was a skillful fighter who shot down as many as 9 enemies in his first battle after joining the army by displaying excellent bravery.
The President treasured him and loved him particularly.
When crossing a deep river with a swift current, the President personally piggybacked him to the other side of the river; and when bivouacking in a thick forest at nights, the President dressed O in the overcoat he was wearing.
O Jae Won came down with fever.
The President was very solicitous for his health and took a measure for treating him in a safe zone.
Thanks to the warm love of the President, O came to receive medical care. Then, one day, O fell into a deep sleep by the campfire and got burnt in his back badly.
The pain he was in defied description.
It was just for his treatment that the President had assigned the "special task".
When the other guerillas came back with a badger, the President instructed them to obtain badger tallow and send it to O who was suffering pain.
Hence, the correspondent of the headquarters visited O with badger tallow.
O was moved to tears after hearing about it from him.
O who returned to the army after recovering his health fought bravely in numerous battles organized and commanded by the President including the battle of Musan Area and the Hongqihe battle to give pleasure and satisfaction to the President.
Indeed, the boundless love and benevolence of the President became an inexhaustible source for injecting matchless strength and courage into revolutionary soldiers.
