Order Awarded Again in Four Months

Kept in the "Room of Revolutionary Comrades-in-Arms" of the Korean Revolution Museum is data about Pak Im Son who was the Director of the Fuel Oil Department under the General Supply Bureau of the Korean People’s Army.

On December ５, １９５１, President Kim Il Sung was reported that Pak passed away.

The news was too surprising to believe.

Only a month ago, the President called him near and appreciated his achievements in the fuel oil supply for front units, placing great trust in him which would remain ever the same.

The President reminded himself of Pak in grief.

His voice, calling the feats of the soldier to his mind, was often interrupted by overwhelming sorrow.

He instructed to accord Pak a state funeral and publish an obituary and personally determined Pak’s burial site.

The next day, the President personally went to the funeral.

Looking up to the President, the participants in the funeral shed warm tears.

On December ８, two days after the final farewell with Pak, papers and broadcasting made a report of the decree of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly on awarding the Order of Freedom and Independence First Class.

A touching story was related to the order awarded to him, who already received the Order of Freedom and Independence Second Class in August, just four months previously.

After the funeral, the President called an official of the Standing Committee of the SPA and informed him of Pak’s last moment and his achievements one by one, proposing to award an order to him.

When the official reported that Pak was awarded the Order of Freedom and Independence Second Class four months before, the President suggested it would be good to grant him with the First Class of the same order.

Indeed, it was a priceless commendation which could be bestowed only on the Korean revolutionaries who formed blood ties with the leader.

Chairman Kim Jong Il, who carried forward the President’s noble sense of obligation, saw that Pak lay in state at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri and a TV drama series on his feats was created.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un ensured that data about him was displayed at the "Room of Revolutionary Comrades-in-Arms" of the Korean Revolution Museum.

Thanks to the respected General Secretary who further consolidates the history and tradition of comradely love as the eternal foundation of our revolution, the life of ardent loyalists like Pak Im Son will shine forever in the history of our revolutionary struggle.
