Solemn Declaration of Birth of Juche Korea

September ９ is the founding day of our glorious motherland, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Greeting the historical day, our people impressively look back upon the days when the Republic was founded.

After the liberation of Korea from the Japanese imperialists’ colonial rule, the situation of our country was very complex.

The factional elements and the Right and Left opportunists, pretending as "revolutionary" and "patriot", fomented the disorder in building the new country, mumbling something incoherent that a bourgeois republic should be established.

Penetrating deep into the prevailing situation, President Kim Il Sung indicated that a democratic people’s republic which represents the interests of all the Korean people should be established in our country and wisely organized and guided the work for it.

The President attached a big significance to enacting and enforcing the constitution which would be a legal foundation of the Republic and ensured that all-people discussion on the draft of constitution was conducted. And he also paid deep attention to deciding on the name of the country, the national emblem, the national flag and the national anthem.

The President announced the founding of the DPRK on September ９, １９４８.

As the DPRK was founded, our people became the master of the country and government to shape their destiny on their own and proudly appear in the international arena.

Indeed, the founding of the DPRK served as an advent of independent people and a gigantic birth of Juche Korea.

Now, our people hold the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the peerlessly great politician, in high esteem as the top leader of the state and vigorously advance forward under the uplifted banner of independence while fulfilling their duty as citizens in the struggle for the comprehensive development of socialism.
